Langhorne: Tonight the ‘Skins welcomed Head Coach John Donnelly and his Central Bucks East Patriots. The ‘Skins last played the Patriots in 2011 and our lifetime record is 11-8.

The ‘Skins had 1st possession but struggled to get the offense going in the 1st quarter. Following a ‘Skins fumble, the Patriots put together a nice drive for 44 yards and a TD. After a three and out by the ‘Skins, CB East had possession on their own 20 yard line as the 1st quarter ended.

The Patriots continued to their own 1 yard line where they were stopped by a bevy of ‘Skins defensemen. With the ball turned over on downs, the ‘Skins took six minutes off the clock with a 99 yard drive featuring some nice runs by Dayvon Tinsley and Jaydon Wilson. The drive ended with a 2 yard TD run by Wilson and a Brett Conrad PAT. The Patriots scored again with a 21 yard TD pass and the score was ’Skins 7 – Patriots 14 at the half.

The ‘Skins had an opportunity to score in the 3rd quarter but a set of holding penalties forced a turnover on downs on their own 20 yard line. The Patriots scored twice, both times on Ethan Shine runs.  Score at end of 3rd quarter was ‘Skins 7 – Patriots 28.

The ‘Skins special teams John Morris’ quick thinking was responsible for their second score of the game – the only score of the 4th quarter. With just seconds left on the clock the Patriots’ punt was blocked and sophomore John Morris recovered it in the end zone for a TD. Conrad’s kick was good for the extra point.

The ‘Skins were plagued by costly penalties throughout the game. With so many new faces on the line the inexperience caused some false starts. This will improve as we move through the season and the line shakes off the jitters.

Best of luck to Coach Donnelly and his Pats as they continue the 2021 season.

Good night Mrs. B.
