Game 5 Header

Langhorne: We welcomed Head Coach Tom Hetrick and his Central Bucks South Titans to the Ridge for Homecoming. It was beautiful sunny afternoon, perfect for all the Homecoming festivities. The Titans come in at 2-2 and the ‘Skins are 1-3.

The ‘Skins have first possession and they eat almost eight minutes off the clock on a 85 yard drive culminating in a 5 yard TD pass from Nunzio Zydzik to Travis Lavelah. Brett Connor’s kick was good for the extra point. With 4:27 left in 1st quarter the score is ‘Skins 7 – Titans 0. The Titans then turned the ball over on downs on the ‘Skins 35 yard line. The quarter ended with the ‘Skins with the ball on their own 44 yard line.

The 2nd quarter continued with the ‘Skins in control of the ball when faced with a 4th down. Coach Wilmot called for a fake to Dayvon Tinsley who handed the ball to John Morris who with great effort managed to get the 1st down with an inch to spare for a first down. Colin Schuckert-Tohm’s catch and run to the 22 yard line put the ‘Skins in great position to score. Zydzik then carried the ball 18 yards into the end zone for a touchdown and Conner was good for the PAT. Score ‘Skins 14 – Titans 0.

After the ‘Skins defense forced the Titans to punt, the ‘Skins get the ball at their 10 with 4:30 minutes left in the half. With some help from Lavelah, Schuckert-Tohm and Nick Buchys the ‘Skins were at the Titan’s 29 yards line when the Titans intercepted the ball to end the half.

The ‘Skins scored in the third with 3:57 left on a 5 yard run by Lavelah and Connor was good for the PAT. But the Titans dominated the rest of the quarter scoring three touchdowns, the first on a 73 yard catch and run, the second on a 19 yard run and the third on a 2 yard run. The Titan’s second PAT was blocked but a two point conversion on the third touchdown evened the score at ‘Skins 21 – Titans 21 at the end of the third quarter.

The 4th quarter was a nail biter to the end. Both teams buckled down and while both scored, the ‘Skins’ kick was blocked. It was down to the wire until an interception ended the ‘Skins last drive of the game. Shout out to the ‘Skins’ defense whose line got to work on the Titan’s 2nd possession in the quarter. Joey Zac, Mason DiCesare and Jack Dunkley made key tackles and Nick Buchys batted down two consecutive Titans’ passes.

Captains for this game: #1 Gavin O’Connor, #7 Dayvon Tinsley, #18 Colin Schuckert-Tohm, #21 Greg Orleski and #37 Jason Wilmot

Best of luck to Coach Hetrick and his Titans as they continue their 2021 season.

Good afternoon Mrs. B.
