Langhorne: We welcomed Head Coach Tom Hetrick and his Central Bucks South Titans to Heartbreak Ridge. The ‘Skins are 6 - 2 and the Titans are 8-0.
Neshaminy won the toss and elected to receive. Carter Clee ripped off a 19 yard run to start the game but the ‘Skins stalled and had to punt.
The Neshaminy D then forced a three and out as the Titans' run game was stuffed.
We were impressed by the offense in the next drive. QB Michael Eckart and RB Carter Clee split up runs, and Jason Gilardi caught a tremendous 31 yard Eckart pass to get the ‘Skins to the Titan’s 3 where Clee ran in a TD. Kicker Kaden Nicastro was good for the PAT and score was ‘Skins 7 – Titans 0.
The Titans got the ball and drove to the ‘Skins 24 when the 1st quarter ended.
Two minutes into the 2nd quarter, QB Owen Pinkerton score a TD on a 33 yard run and kicker Addis Formelio was good for the extra point. Score ‘Skins 7 – Titans 7.
The ‘Skins offense had us on the edge of our seats on this possession, Coach Wilmot made the gutsy call to leave the offense on the field on a 4th down three times, and all three times the offense was able to convert - first on an Eckart run and then once a Titans’ hold penalty and again on a Titan’s pass interference penalty. However, the ‘Skins stalled on the Titans’ 22 and turned the ball over on downs.
With 4 minutes left in the half, the Titans offense stayed on the ground and ate up yards. Titan’s Braylen Cape scored on a 19 yard TD run and Formelio’s kick was good. Score is ‘Skins 7 – Titans 14 as the clock ran out.
Congratulations to the new Homecoming King and Queen, Kyler Nelson and Franchesca Cappriotti and to all the couples on the field at halftime.
The Titans start it up, stick with their running game and score on a Pinkerton 1 yard TD run. The Titan PAT attempt is successful. Score ‘Skins 7 – Titans 21.
The Skins then go three and out. The Titans then score on their next possession on a 41 yard TD reception and with the extra point, move the score to ‘Skins 7 – Titans 28.
The ‘Skins stall on the Titans’ 37 and are forced to punt as the 3rd quarter wraps.
Central Bucks South starts the 4th quarter with the ball. They scored on a 14 yard TD run by Cape and Formelio’s kick was good. Score ‘Skins 7 – Titans 35.
Both teams then could not convert and had to punt. Time expired on the clock with a final score of ‘Skins 7 – Titans 35.
We appreciated the ‘Skins’ play in the first half. The 1st quarter belonged to Neshaminy but the Titans showed up strong in the second half. We have total faith in our players and we know that they will be back next week in fighting form for our annual big time rival game.
Captains for tonight’s game: #1 Michael Eckart, #8 Connor Frederick, #55 Kyler Nelson and #95 Owen Swartz.
You can re-watch the game here. We wish Coach Hetrick and his Titans the best in 2024.
See you next Friday night at Harry’s House as we take on our big time rival, Pennsbury, on the last game of the regular season. Pennsbury tickets are available online at the Neshaminy High School Box Office. Tickets may not be available at the door. This is always the hottest ticket of the year and Neshaminy will be celebrating our Seniors. Don’t miss this one!
