Lansdale: Tonight the ‘Skins traveled to Crawford Stadium to play Head Coach Dick Beck and his North Penn Knights. Always a hard fought contest, this was a tough matchup.
Neshaminy starts the game off with a Tom Schoepfer 50 yard kick return but they lose 30 yards to a penalty. They quickly made those lost yards up, only to stall on the 44 and Kaden Nicastro punts to the Knights.
North Penn moved down the field easily and Johns Wallace scored from the 1 yard line. Ryan Boklet’s extra point kick was good, and the score was ‘Skins 0 – Knights 7.
Action is back to the ‘Skins and Michael Sassano gets a quick first down, but 2 plays later the ball is fumbled and North Penn recovers on the ‘Skins’ 29 yard line. Three plays later Matt Pownall scores on a 21 yard run and Boklet’s kick is good. Score ‘Skins 0 – Knights 14 as the 1st quarter ended.
The teams switched sides with Neshaminy in possession, but they cannot convert and turn the ball over on downs to the Knights on the ‘Skins 28. The Knights then scored on a 1 yard QB sneak and Boklet’s kick is good. Score ‘Skins 0- Knights 21.
Despite Nashir Moore’s hefty 26 yard run, Neshaminy stalled and were forced to punt. The Knight’s Josiah Coleman then ran in 9 yards for a TD. Boklet is good for the extra point. Score with 5 minutes left in the first half is ‘Skins 0 – Knights 28.
Ball to Neshaminy, but they had to send Nicastro out to punt after failing to convert and the Knights started their drive on their own 38. North Penn went to a no huddle offense and quickly got into field goal position. Boklet added 3 points to the score with his kick and the teams headed to the locker rooms as the clock runs out on the first half. Score is ‘Skins 0 – Knights 31.
Back on the field to start the 2nd half, North Penn eats up the clock with a series of runs, but they fumble the ball and the ‘Skins recover. Taking full advantage of the fumble, QB Michael Eckart scores a TD on a long 75 yard run. Nicastro is good for the kick and the score is ‘Skins 7 – Knights 31.
The Knights answered right back and moved the ball to score from the 1 yard line but the snap to Boklet was botched. Score ‘Skins 7 – Knights 37.
Neshaminy’s ball was then intercepted and the Knights closed out the 3rd quarter on the ‘Skins 24.
The Knights attempted a field goal at the start of the 4th quarter, but it was unsuccessful. The rest of the quarter was scoreless and the game ends with the score of ‘Skins 7 – Knights 37.
See you at Harry’s House next Friday when we meet Abington. It was a tough loss but we have total faith in the team. The 'Skins will be back in the saddle and ready to go next week. We are looking forward to it as we will be celebrating the 2024 Hall Of Fame Inductees & our 1st Responders so you don’t want to miss it.
Good night Mrs. B.
