All Time Roster

Needless to say, this will probably always be a work in progress and we greatly appreciate any assistance from the Alumni to ensure that the information we have to this point is correct. We have gathered as much as we possibly could to share with all the fans. We have a roster for every season except for 1928-1949, 1953, 1973 and 1983, hence we are missing those players. We have literally spent years, and I do mean years, collecting documentation to complete this huge project. The awards shown are from newspaper sources, old game programs, yearbooks or memorabilia given to us from Alumni – basically anywhere we could find the info we needed. This list matches the rosters exactly. For example, if a player has no number, then there is no number shown for him. Some years the coaches put underclassmen on the roster without a number and some older rosters contained starters only.

The most recent years (2010s/2020s) were the easiest due to the incredible assistance from Coach Neil French, who supplied us with yearly rosters for a range of media needs over the course of 12 seasons. Coach Wilmot was also extremely helpful to us supplying updates to all of his teams from 2015 – on, as well as back to 1995, when he started coaching for Neshaminy.  He filled in a lot of missing blanks. Note that we did not indicate whether or not a player is in the Hall of Fame as that information is contained here.

We also have some lean years – years where we were unable to find documentation for All SOL, or Golden Teams, even internal Redskin Awards. We recorded every name on the roster and some rosters had players with no numbers. Then last, but not least, rosters were especially difficult when Harry Franks was head coach. This is because I took roster information from game programs and Harry would switch their jersey numbers when switching their jersey colors. Oftentimes, he would put an incorrect number in a roster to confuse the opposing coach. I will say he sure did confuse us and this may be part of his winning success. There are also some later years where the rosters had two sets of numbers. Again, our list matches the rosters exactly.

A lot of alumni who played in college reached out to give us photos and information – thanks! We included the college they played at even if they went on the disabled list, or could no longer play due to injury.

This All-Time Roster is part of our goal to make Neshaminy Football’s fan site the best in the country.
