WBCB Post Game Interview
Sterling Limousine Players of the Week
Defensive Player of the Week
Jack Spingler
Spingler had a remarkable game in the Redskins 27-25 victory over Council Rock South. Spingler stopped a game-tying two-point conversion with 24 seconds left in the game. The senior outside linebacker also intercepted a pass, recovered a fumble and blocked an extra point to go along with three solo tackles (including a tackle for a loss) and one assist.
Coach Steve Wilmot says: “Jack had a lot of opportunities to help us this week. A couple of times he was in the right spot at the right time, and that isn’t luck. Jack does what he’s coached to do. He had a real important fumble recovery for us at the beginning of the game. He had a blocked extra point, and without blocking that, it could be a whole different game. He had an interception with a 25-yard return, and he had that big tackle at the end of the game on the two-point conversion. The best thing I can say about Jack is he’s in the right place at the right time, and he does that because he’s a good football player, and that’s what good football players do. “Jack is like a hybrid. Last year he played defensive back for us. This year in our regular defense, he plays outside linebacker, but sometimes he’s asked to play back in the secondary, sometimes he’s asked to play linebacker, and we actually had him on the line a few times – he was almost like a fifth defensive lineman. We ask him to do a lot of different things, and he’s a good football player, and he can pull it off.”
