Doylestown: Tonight the ‘Skins made the big trip to War Memorial Field in Doylestown to meet Head Coach Rob Rowan and his CB West Bucks.
CB West started the game up and marched right down the field to score on a 1 yard pass. The kick was good and the score is ‘Skins 0 – Bucks 7.
Both teams went back and forth on three and outs. The Bucks had the ball on their own 30 when the 1st quarter ended.
Both sides switched and the Bucks quarterback was met by Woodolf Moises, who pushed the Bucks’ offensive line back 5 yards. The Bucks got down to the ‘Skins' 19 yard and were ready to score, but Neshaminy’s defense forced a turnover on downs.
The ‘Skins went to work with some solid Carter Clee runs. We appreciated the next ‘bit of trickery’ play – a throw to Connor Frederick who pitched the ball to Brock Williams who then ran the ball down the side for 24 yards. Kaden Nicastro topped the drive off with a field goal, bringing the score to ‘Skins 3 – Bucks 7.
The Bucks were forced to punt after they stalled on their own 43 yard. Key defensive plays from Shaakir Whiting and Nick Sassano were vital in stopping this drive.
The last drive of the half was a quick offensive drive by the ‘Skins. Between some very impressive Clee runs and a beautiful catch by Cole Tarapchak, the ‘Skins attempted a field goal, but it went far right. The half ends with a score of ‘Skins 3 - Bucks 7.
The 3rd quarter started with back and forth punts. The Bucks scored on a 3 yard TD run by Clemens and his kick was good. Score is ‘Skins 3 – Bucks 14. The quarter wraps up with Neshaminy on their own 31.
We are already in the 4th and unfortunately, the ‘Skins stalled on the drive and had to punt. The Bucks get the ball and promptly put points on the board with a QB keeper 19 yard run. The PAT is good. Score with 8:40 left on the clock is ‘Skins 3 – Bucks 21.
What follows is a thrilling Neshaminy offensive drive that culminated in a 19 yard TD catch by Gilardi. Nicastro’s kick is good. Michael Eckart took control, catching Tom Schoepfer, Michael Sassano, Connor Frederick and Jason Gilardi to move the ball quickly and efficiently down the field. The score is ‘Skins 10 – Bucks 21 with 5:43 left on the clock.
Nicastro tries an offside kick but CB West recovers on their own 45. With 3:52 left in the game, Neshaminy fans were praying for a fumble but what they got was the shut down of the Bucks' drive and their subsequent punt. But due to penalties, the Bucks got the ball back with a first down. The ‘Skins’ defense had to shut them right back down again.
The ‘Skins get the ball back with 56 seconds left in the game but the clock runs out with the final score ‘Skins 10 – Bucks 21.
You can re-watch the game here. We wish Coach Rowen and his Bucks the best for the remainder of the 2024 season.
Captains for tonight’s game were: #1 Michael Eckart, #8 Connor Frederick, #10 Jason Wilmot and #95 Owen Swartz.
See you next Saturday at Pennridge. We hope to see you there!
Good night Mrs. B.
