Langhorne: There’s no place like home and tonight The Ridge welcomed Head Coach John Donnelly and his Central Bucks East Patriots to Harry's House. The ‘Skins are 5 - 2 and the Patriots are 3-4.
Neshaminy receives the ball to start up the game. Despite a nice gain of 16 yards on a catch and run, the ‘Skins stalled on their 42 and had to punt.
The Patriots scored on their next drive on a 3 yard Mike Price run. Due to an offside penalty on the ‘Skins, their offense came back on the field to attempt a 2 point conversion but the Neshaminy defense shut them down. Score is ‘Skins 0 – Patriots 6.
Ball to Neshaminy and Michael Eckart pulled out a big save on a bad snap situation as he managed to get a tremendous pass off to Tom Schoepfer for a 1st down conversion. Conner Frederick then caught an 8 yard pass for another 1st down and the clock ran out on the 1st quarter.
Switching sides, Eckart threw a screen pass to Nick Sassano who streaked down the sideline for a gain of 34 yards. Sassano got right back in action again with a catch and run of another 9 yards to the Patriots’ 7. Lucas Stewart then scores on a 12 yard pass and dependable Kaden Nicastro is good for the PAT. Score is ‘Skins 7 – Patriots 6.
The Patriots then managed to get to their 42, but they could go no further as the ‘Skins’ defense absolutely shut them down and forced a turnover on downs at that same 42. Unfortunately the ‘Skins could not capitalize and had to punt.
On the Pats’ next drive, the Neshaminy defensive line and the Sassano Brothers stuffed their run game and shut down their drive.
The ‘Skins got the ball back and with the help of a 15 yard personal foul penalty, the Skins landed on the Pats’ 47. With the help of Michael Sassano, Carter Clee and Tom Schoepfer, Neshaminy got down to the Pats’ 14. On a 4th and 8 with 9 seconds to go, Nicastro split the uprights for 3 points on a 29 yard field goal. The seconds tick off the clock to end the half with a score of ‘Skins 10 – Patriots 6.
With both teams back from the break, the Pats start up the 2nd half but Michael Sassano intercepted their ball and ran 50 yards back for a TD. Nicastro’s kick is good and the score is now ‘Skins 17 – Patriots 0.
The Pats were then forced to punt due to key tackles by Carson Schneider and Owen Swartz.
Neshaminy put together an 8 minute drive to the red zone when Carter Clee’s 7 yard TD run was called back on a penalty. The ‘Skins were then intercepted and the Pats started on their own 20. The 3rd quarter ends with the score of ‘Skins 17 – Patriots 6.
The Patriots see 2 new QBs in the 4th quarter. The Pats make progress, but a personal foul and a Shakir Whiting sack ended the drive and a punt ensued. But the snap on the punt was botched and Neshaminy got the ball on the Pats’ 16 yard line.
After several productive runs, Carter Clee scores and Nicastro’s kick is good and score is ‘Skins 24 – Patriots 6.
With 3:55 left in the game, the Pats return the punt 33 yards to their 42. They get to the ‘Skins’ 1 yard line and the Neshaminy defense stuffs their first 2 attempts. Chase Ingram then squeezes in by a hair for the TD. Brody Wojnicki is good for the extra point and the score is ‘Skins 24 – Patriots 13.
CB East recovers the offside kick on the ‘Skins’ 42 but a Chris Long interception puts an end to their drive.
With 1:33 left in the game, Clee runs ate up the clock and the game ended with a score of ‘Skiins 24 – Patriots 0.
You can re-watch the game here. We wish Coach Donnelly and his Patriots the best for the remainder of the 2024 season. Hats off to the Pats’ defense who was tough on our running backs all night.
See you next Friday night at Harry’s House as we take on Central Bucks South. Come out to support the players!
Good night Mrs. B
