Warrington: Coach Felus and the crew made the trek to Warrington to meet Coach Tom Hetrick and his Central Bucks South Titans for game 9 of the 2025 season. It is snappy weather at 57 degrees - just right for a football game. The Titans came into with a 4-4 record and the Skins 6-2.
Neshaminy won the toss and elected to defer. Stephen Buczek kicked it off and the Titans quickly went three and out after going backward on three plays.
The Titans’ punt snap was caught but the punter’s knee hit the ground, turning the ball over to the ‘Skins on the Titans’ 11. Michael Eckart quickly hit Michael Sassano in the end zone for a TD. Buczek nailed the uprights and the score was ‘Skins 7 – Titans 0.
The rest of the first quarter was a tough go as we suffered with an interception and two fumbles, and the Titans managed to score on all three. The quarter ended with a Titans kick off and the clock ran out with the ‘Skins in Titans territory on the 39. Score was 'Skins 7 - Titans 17.
Switching sides the ‘Skins continued to struggle in their first two possessions of the 2nd quarter, first with a turnover on downs and then with a 4th and long.
Central Bucks South could not take advantage of either situation. The ‘Skins next pinned the Titans down on their 12 and forced the Titans to punt from deep in their own territory. A few Carter Clee and Brock William runs later, Eckart ran 19 yards for a TD and the kick was good. Score was ‘Skins 14 – Titans 17 with 1:43 on the clock.
But the Titans came right back and with under a minute left in the half and scored on a 21 yard pass into the end zone. The kick was good and the score stood at ‘Skins 14 – Titans 24 as the teams went on break.
Neshaminy started up the 2nd half on their own 20 and got down to the Titan’s 32 where they turned the ball over on downs.
CB South ate up the clock with a long run-heavy drive and subsequently got stalled on the ‘Skins’ 18 where they turned the ball over on downs.
Then with some Clee runs, Williams, Bobby Lagler and Nick Sassano catches the ‘Skins advanced to the Titans’ 39 when the scoreless 3rd quarter ended with the score remaining 'Skins 14 - Titans 24 .
But the ‘Skins turned the ball over on downs on their 36. In return, the ‘Skins continued held the Titans offense in check, stopping them on their own 42 and forcing them to punt.
With 7:54 left on the clock, the 'Skins then retaliated with a combination of really tough Clee runs, who knocked away Titan defenders as he plowed down the field, Despite a rare offensive face mask penalty, and a TD which was called back, the ‘Skins added 7 more to the score when Eckart ran the ball in 36 yards for a TD. Buczzek, as steady as always, added 1 more.
The Titans ran out the clock with a series on runs and the game ended with the score at 'Skins 21 - Titans 24.
The 'Skins struggled against 1st quarter unusual bad breaks, but the defense held the Titans scoreless in the second half. Hats off to Carter Clee - he never stops trying to get that 'one more yard' no matter how hard he has to work. He had some really tough runs in this game, especially in the 4th quarter. QB Michael Eckart determinedly ran in both TDs and Stephen Buczek was 100% effective on PATs. You can bet the team will shake it off and get right back to work to prepare for the annul Pennsbury - Game 10, signaling an end to the regular season.
It feels like the season has flown by a lot faster than normal this year. The team has worked really hard all year and we are really proud of all they have accomplished. Watching Eckart's passing game has been a pleasure, we have been blessed with talented wide receivers and Clee has given us a lot to cheer about. No matter what comes our way - we love our 'Skins!
Captains for tonight's game - #1 Michael Eckart, #9 Carson Schneider, #52 Owen Swartz and #54 Milo Makes.
The Titans played hard tonight. We wish them the best of luck the rest of the season.
You can re-watch the game here.
We are headed to our neighbor and long time rival, Pennsbury, next week to play the Falcons. We expect a great crowd which is usual for a Pennsbury game. Don’t miss this one!
Good night Mrs. B!
