Langhorne: Head Coach Dick Beck and his Knights came to the Ridge for game 4 of the 2025 season. The ‘Skins are coming off a loss to Cheltenham and the Knights are undefeated. This match up always proves to be a hard fought game as the Knights are always a worthy opponent.

The ‘Skins started it up and ate up 7 minutes off the clock with a beautiful, crisp, clean drive, punctuated by runs by Michel Eckart, Carter Clee, Brock Williams and Mike Sassano, and ended with a TD on a Carter Clee 16 yard run. The PAT was no good and the score was ‘Skins 6 – Knights 0.

The Knights reached the ‘Skins 1 yard line when the 1st quarter ended.

At 11.52 into the 2nd quarter, they scored on a 4 yard Matt Pownall run and a solid PAT. Score ‘Skins 6 – Knights 7. Both team’s possessions were 7.50 minutes long.

Ball back to ‘Skins and we saw the offense firing on all ceremonies, marching down the field at a quick pace. Eckart and Clee were very successful running the ball and Mike Sassano’s beautiful 33 yard catch and run moved Neshaminy into the red zone at the 4, where Eckart punched it in for a TD. The 2 point conversion attempt was no good and the score was ‘Skins 12 – Knights 7.

The Knights then scored with a 10 yard throw into the end zone to Sal Colella for a TD and the PAT added a point. Score ‘Skins 12 – Knights 14 as the clock ran out on the first half.

Halftime proved to be quite busy with a Neshaminy All Sports Hall of Fame Induction and a tribute to our First Responders.

Game 4a HeaderThe 3rd quarter started with a steady run-driven drive by the Knights when Neshaminy’s defense shut them down on their 5. Mike Sassano had a key play when he forced a 4th down by blocking a Knights’ pass attempt into the end zone. This kept them from scoring a TD. They then were unable to make their field goal attempt.

The ball is turned over to the ‘Skins on North Penn’s 20 but the ‘Skins went three and out.

Neshaminy’s defense shut down the Knights’s possession, capping it off with a fearsome Milo Makes, Owen Swartz and Carson Schneider combined tackle of North Penn’s running back, forcing the Knights to send out their punting unit.

Unable to take advantage, again the ‘Skins went three and out.

With 2:34 left in the scoreless 3rd quarter, the ‘Skins defense is back out on the field and the clock runs out with the Knights on the ‘Skins 21.

The 4th quarter started with the ‘Skins needing a break, and that is exactly what they got it when Carson Schneider forced a Knights' fumble and Owen Swartz recovered it at the 5.

Clee gave the offense a big push with an 18 yard hard run, busting through the Knights’ defense, followed by a beautiful 12 yard Eckart pass to Nick Sassano and then a 9 yard pass to brother Mike Sassano. Clee then moved the chains on a 9 yard run and Nick Sassano topped the drive off with a 41 yard TD catch.

North Penn could not move the ball as the Neshaminy defense was on fire lighting up the North Penn offense. Owen Swartz, Carson Schneider and Brock Williams had stellar stops on both the Knights' run and pass plays.

With 4 minutes left in the game. Neshaminy took over on the Knights’ 5. Clee moved the chains with powerful runs. Boldly going for it on 4th and 1, we had the jitters with the game on the line. With 2:31 left, Eckart took total control with a 39 yard run to seal the game. Final Score ‘Skins 18 – Knights 14.

The ‘Skins played a clean game, having worked successfully to reduce penalties.

The call to go for it on 4th and 1 with 2 minutes left to play was an aggressive move as the Knights could have come back to score again and take the game.

Michael Eckart was a leader on the field and the offense was sharp. The defensive shut out the Knights in the 2nd half. As we said last week, this is a team we really enjoy watching.

Captains for tonight's game - #1 Michael Eckart, #9 Carson Schneider, #52 Owen Swartz and #54 Milo Makes

The Knights always play hard and tonight was no exception. Neshaminy’s last win against North Penn was in 2020 and we are really proud of this victory.

You can re-watch the game here.

We are off to Stephen A. Schwarzman Stadium next week for game 5 against Abington! Don't miss it as it’s bound to be an exciting game.

Good night Mrs. B!
