DEFENSIVE PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Neshaminy linebackers Collin Giambrone, Jared Molle, Joel Bonner and Colton Clee – The Redskins’ linebackers – all juniors - were difference makers in a defensive battle that saw Neshaminy eke out a 7-6 win. Neshaminy’s defense did not allow a point with Pennridge’s only score a pick six early in the contest. The foursome combined for 17 tackles.
Coach Steve Wilmot says: “"Our defense did a nice job of running around and stopping the Pennridge run all night, especially our linebackers. They were making good reads and getting to the football, stopping some good backs before they got a head of steam. They have continued to improve every game for us. Pennridge did a lot of speed sweeps. I thought the linebackers did a really nice job of running down the speed sweeps. They tried to run it inside, and pretty much every time they tried to run inside, there was a linebacker there to meet them. I thought they played very well.”
