We are proud to present the 2005-2006 Neshaminy High School Redskin Marching Band. This year the band is comprised of 114 members, which includes 98 musicians and 16 color guard. The band is directed on the field by Drum Majors Christie Gill and Amanda Boccuti and Color Guard Captain Kirstin Schrier. The band director is Michael Lipton. Band staff includes Dave Heaney, Kristin Cloak, Jeremiah Paton, Shannon Stubbs, Amber Woolley, Gregg Mervine and Jason Leigh. Drill design is by Joe Shonis.
The Marching Band will be kept busy this fall with performances at all Redskin football games as well as participating in Marching Band Shows at Boyertown, Marple Newtown, William Tennent and Pennsbury High Schools. We will host our own 13th Annual Kaleidoscope of Bands Show on Saturday, October 29, 2005.
Our 2005 production is entitled ?Made In America”. The show repertoire will feature music by American composers in a variety of styles and genres. The show will open with the exciting sounds of “Caravan” by Duke Ellington. Next the band will present a swinging arrangement of “Georgia On My Mind” composed by Hoagy Carmichael and made famous by Ray Charles. The third segment features the drum line and pit in an arrangement of Aaron Copland’s “Hoe Down”. The show concludes with the familiar sounds of John Philip Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever”.
